Why Choose Droll Yankees Feeders?
Droll Yankees feeders are designed with both birds and birdwatchers in mind. With features that prioritize durability, ease of use, and pest resistance, they offer a reliable solution for enjoying birdwatching year after year.

Droll Yankees Background
Droll Yankees has made bird feeders since the early 1980s. The original focus was building feeders from materials that wouldn’t degrade quickly outdoors—a response to common problems with wood feeders that rotted and plastic feeders that cracked.
The product line developed around practical concerns that came up repeatedly: feeders that were difficult to clean became unsanitary, squirrels emptied feeders within hours, and poorly designed perches didn’t accommodate different bird sizes. Solutions came through design iteration—removable bases for cleaning access, weight-sensitive perches that closed under squirrel weight, and adjustable perch positions.
The Ring Pull system came from trying to eliminate the frustration of stuck caps and cross-threaded lids. Instead of twisting components that seized up over time, the design used a simple lift mechanism. It worked, so it became standard across multiple feeder models.
Current feeders still address the same basic issues: last through multiple seasons, clean without requiring tools or excessive effort, and actually keep squirrels from dominating the seed supply. The approach remains focused on solving these recurring problems rather than adding features for their own sake.
